HISTORY
Eaton Square is one of London's premier addresses. Together with Belgrave Square (q.v.) it was built in 1826–55 by Thomas Cubitt (1788–1855) for the Grosvenor Estate and named after Eaton Hall in Cheshire, home of the landowners, the Dukes of Westminster.

It is actually a rectangle divided into six gardens, one of which, in the centre of the south side, will be open for Open Garden Squares Weekend. In 2007, 2008 and 2009 the perfectly manicured gardens were highly commended in the London Garden Society's competition for large private squares.

Famous past residents include Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain (at No. 37) and actress Vivien Leigh (at No. 54).
